Colorado Ski Resorts

Seven of the smaller ski resorts in Colorado offer outstanding opportunities for all levels of skiers. 

1. Arapahoe Basin has been providing skiers outstanding runs to over 13,000 feet for sixty-years. Located sixty-eight miles west of Denver there are runs  for all levels of skier. http://www.arapahoebasin.com

2. Loveland Ski Area also just over 13,000 feet is located fifty-five miles west of Denver. Oriented towards families and over 1300 acres. http://www.skiloveland.com

3. Monarch Ski and Snowboard Area has areas that are ideally suited for the thrill seeker and advanced skier. This year a 130 acres for back-country skiing has been added.  http://www.skimonarch.com 

4. Powderhorn Resort located outside Grand Junction is a fantastic area for beginners and intermediate level ski skills. Skiing began here in the 1940's with a rope tow. http://www.powderhorn.com  

5. Ski Cooper originally was the taining ground for the 10th Mountain Division Special Forces in WWII. Located outside of Leadville Colorado, it maintains four lifts for beginners and inermedite level skiers. There is back-country skiing in a 2,400 acre area. In June of 2006 construction began on a a new children's center. Reasonably priced.  http://www.skicooper.com 

6. SolVista Golf and Ski Ranch is located near Granby and Winter Park Colorado. Ski areas for beginners to advanced levels. http://www.solvista.com 

7. Sunlight Mountain Resort is located is located outside of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Some of the 67 trails are more then two miles longs and offer spectacular views. http://www.sunlightmtn.com
