Six-years ago Delhi transferred buses from diesel fuel to
natural gas and there was a great improvement in the air quality.
However, with prosperity there are over 1000 new cars a day being
introduced into the traffic count. The preferred fuel is diesel due in

one-third of the crime in large cities in India. Delhi is the crime
capital and has been so for the past five years. Since rape cases have
been documented by the National Crime Records Bureau, rapes have jumped
678%. Over 75% of rape victims knew the rapist. Many rapes go
unreported.

tourist had been booked on a train and never reported to his waiting
taxi. A year ago there was also another missing Japanese tourist who has
not been located.
Crimes appear to be on the upswing in
Agra. Over the last several months there have been several sexual
assaults against tourists and in November acid was thrown on a Russian
tourist.
